Annapolis, MD: Starry Associates, Inc. (Starry), a professional consulting and IT services firm, announced today its plans to work with Alluvionic, Inc., a third-party consulting firm, to begin the NIST basic assessment and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 Remediation.  Starry originally performed the SPRS self-assessment in 2020, using the initial version 1 guidance.  As Starry continues to support the Department of Defense, Starry plans to review the latest NIST/DFAR guidance and update policies and procedures to meet CMMC L1 compliance requirements. A kick-off meeting is scheduled for the first week of January, with a completion target date by the end of June. Alluvionic has supported Starry’s CMMI appraisals since 2018.  Alluvionic will evaluate the current Cybersecurity process and practices in the organizational ECI/CUI control areas, to comply with the NIST 800-171 standards and DFAR regulations, develop POAMs, and update the System Security Plan, resulting in an update to the SPRS Attestation of compliance against the 17 CMMC v2.0 ML1 “Basic Cyber Hygiene” practices.
